West Midlands confidence rises; NEWS IN BRIEF.
Business confidence rose in the West Midlands during April, making it the UK's most confident region and prompting an increase in job creation plans, according to the latest business barometer from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking.
Firms reported higher confidence in their business prospects, up 10 points to 36%, and higher economic optimism, up 12 points at 19%. Together, this gives an overall confidence of 28% making the West Midlands the most confident region in the UK.
Meanwhile, a net balance of 20% of West Midlands firms now expect to hire more staff in the next year, up eight points on the previous month.
