Vibration welding equipment for parts from 6 sq in. to 48 x 20 in. Linear friction welding is effective on parts with complex geometry and resins that are difficult to weld with ultrasonics. Also orbital vibration welding, a friction process that uses constant-velocity orbital motion to weld materials with as little as 30-mil part-to-part clearance; hot-plate welding, a direct thermal welding technique suitable for complex, irregular shapes (joint can be curved in all planes); spin welding suitable for circular parts with final orientation within 1[degrees], and thermal welding.

Laser IRAM welding process passes laser radiation through one plastic component (transmissive component) into a second where it is absorbed to melt the interface (absorptive component). Process is accurate, noninvasive, controllable, and clean. Can be used with dissimilar materials. Two IR-transmissive parts may be laser welded using IR-absorbing products developed by Gentex Corp. Also Model IR15V infrared welding system.

Induction cap-sealing systems establish an electromagnetic field that heats foil in a cap liner to create a hermetic seal. Seal prevents leakage, preserves product freshness and provides tamper-evident packaging. Systems include the portable Super Seal Jr. and Auto Jr. units, air-cooled Super Seal series (models 50, 75 and 100), Super Seal Max and capless solutions. Servo or inertial spin welders (4 standard models) weld circular-joint parts at speeds from 500 to 16,000 rpm. Welding times are fast and units easily fitted with rotary tables for high-speed production. Servo and pneumatic models available.


PUK 3 spot welders carry the technological advancements of previous-generation PUK spot welders to a whole new level. When fusing metals a special setting shortens impulse times to increase weld quality and strength. Micro mode helps with delicate tasks, enabling microwelding on sheet metal as thin as 0.10 mm. PUK 3 Professional Plus offers more controller power, finer setting ranges and five program slots in which frequently used setting combinations can be saved. Eliminates pickling, a rubber wheel is all that's needed for cleanup. Ideal for permanent welding and tack welding prior to soldering. PUK 3 spot welders both include stainless steel controller and Mezzo Stereomicroscope, welding handpiece, 10 reversible electrode tips, cross-locking electrode tweezers, flat electrode pliers, electrode clamp, diamond disc for cleaning tips, 10-ft gas hose and instructions.

Primary equipment line for plastic assembly equipment, tooling and systems includes ultrasonic welding, staking and inserting machines in 40, 30, 20 and 15 kHz frequencies that are capable of welding in digital time, constant energy and/or distance modes with power outputs from 400 to 4500 watts. Offers basic hand-held systems and bench-model pneumatic press systems. For applications requiring greater depth of weld control, ElectroPress system provides a final weld tolerance of [+ or -]0.0003 in. For large plastic part welding, a complete line of linear vibration welding systems, and for circular or round plastic parts, a standard line of high-torque spin welding machines are offered. New X-press 20-kHz integrated ultrasonic welder features a press with a built-in microprocessor that eliminates the need for a separate power supply.


Ultrasonic assembly equipment for welding, staking, riveting and inserting. SureWeld bonding systems include conventional 20 kHz units with power levels from 1000 to 3000 w; 35 kHz units from 400 w to 900 w for smaller assemblies; and a 70-kHz, 90-w unit for miniature plastic components.

Sureweld 20 and 35 feature rectangular support columns to eliminate deflection, a built-in leveling plate, and a T slot and toe clamps to secure the workpiece, allowing for increased control and repeatable accuracy.

Power supplies for the welders can be attached, mounted separately, or integrated within the unit. Equipment can accommodate multiple welding nests and is available in handheld models as well as modules for easy integration into production lines.

Line of engineered fasteners and assembly equipment includes pin and insert installation equipment and systems; and lowcost assembly equipment for installation of inserts into thermoplastics and thermosets by heat transfer. Heat-insert drivers enable easy and repeatable setups and provide greater in-process control. Preset, repeatable air pressure and temperature settings ensure uniform insert installation and maximum insert performance.

Model PH platen-style vertical, multitip heat insert installation machine simultaneously installs several threaded inserts (up to 12 at a time) on different levels. Blowing Agents


Polybatch additive concentrates include different carriers and other additives as required.


nCore custom-formulated concentrates for most thermoplastics can include a nontoxic blowing agent for food-contact applications. Can contain color and other additives. nCore modified azo compounds reportedly permit improved control of gas generation.


LDPE-based foaming-agent concentrates specially designed for thin blown, cast, or coextruded films. Grade 10123 is for LDPE, HDPE or PP homopolymers. Universal 10349 concentrate is for engineering resins, polar or nonpolar.


Isotron line of HCFCs used as physical blowing agents for PUR, PS, and PE.


Foamazol chemical blowing agents for use in most application such as structural foam, wire and cable, profile and sheet, blown and extruded films, blow molded containers, injection molding, and PP ribbon extrusion. Products offered in 100% active free-flowing powders and pelletized masterbatches.

Endothermic and exothermic formulations available as well as blends. Masterbatches in a range of base resins for improved compatibility with resins such as PP, PE, copolymers, PS, PPE, ABS and PVC. Processing temperatures from 300-500 F. Custom formulations available.


Wide range of Hydrocerol chemical blowing agents and nucleating agent masterbatches can be used for foaming most all commonly used thermoplastic resins and blends. Available in exothermic and endothermic formulations.

In extrusion or injection molding masterbatches can reduce weight, improve performance, reduce manufacturing costs and create special surface effects.

In wood/plastic composites HYDROCEROL can improve mechanical properties and processing characteristics, reduce weight, cut costs and make the composites easier to fabricate.

Custom masterbatches are also available, along with masterbatches that combine active ingredients with selected pigments and dyestuffs.


Line of fluorochemical blowing agents includes Formacel Z-2 (HFC-152a), FDA approved for use in PS food service and packaging foams; Formacel S (HCFC-22) used in closed-cell polyurethane and polyisocyanurate foams; and Formacel Z-4 (HFC-134a) for polyurethane systems and appliance foams, and in PS insulating board.


Expancel expandable thermoplastic microspheres used as blowing agents in systems heated to 200-400 F. Microspheres are white, spherical polymeric particles. Thermoplastic shell encapsulates a gas and softens when heated, allowing expansion from the increased internal vapor pressure. Expansion factor is 40-60 times the original volume. Other features include defined cell size, closed-cell structure. Suitable as a blowing agent in plastisols, elastomers, thermosets, and thermoplastics.


Porofor ADC azodicarbonamide chemical blowing agents for rigid and flexible vinyls, crosslinked PE foam, ABS and PS.


Ecocell foam concentrates for microcellular foams. New endothermic chemical foaming agent concentrate CFAC-5050MT for use in PE, PS and PP. Product designed for use in food-contact applications such as foamed PE cap liners where azodicarbonamide is not permitted.

CFAC-5050MT activates at lower temperatures than traditional endothermic formulations, especially in terms of weight reduction and cost-effectiveness in structural foam molding and extrusion applications. According to the company, a 70% weight reduction has been achieved in an automotive structural foam application and in PE profile and sheet extrusions. Applications for use include foamed wood composites. A PVC compatible version also available.


Wil-Foam chemical blowing-agent concentrates (solid or liquid) for vinyls, polyolefins, styrenics, acrylics, polyesters, and nylons. Custom-made, multicomponent concentrates feature high concentration and superior dispersion. Also concentrates, which can contain colors and other additives, for wire and cable, fibers, film, sheet, profile extrusions, injection and blow molding, and structural foam.

OnCap PolyFoam chemical blowing-agent masterbatches with an expanded temperature range of 360 to 600 F are designed for polyolefins, styrenics, and engineering thermoplastics such as ABS, PC, PPS, PPO and some nylons.


Custom-formulated blowing-agent concentrates for thermoplastics:

* BA20T for EVA and LDPE foamed at 290 to 340[degrees]F.

* BA210 for LDPE, HDPE, and PS foamed at 350 to 400[degrees]F.

* BA20 for PP, PE, PS, PPE alloys, and ABS foamed at 380 to 440[degrees]F.

Safoam and Saftec endothermic chemical nucleating and blowing agents for thermoplastics. Available as free-flowing powders or concentrates. Fast outgassing concentrates in various activity levels contain special carrier resins that improve melt flow, tensile strength, and impact properties in extrusion and injection molding. Products help to decrease weight and improve process time. A microcellular structure is created that reduces internal stress, eliminates sink marks, and provides uniformity to cells.

Compatible thermoplastics include ABS, PS, EVA, HDPE, LDPE, and PPO/PPE alloys and others. Also grades for flexible and rigid PVC and moisture-sensitive resins such as nylon, PET, PC and PC/ABS blends. Cost savings have been reported in the manufacture of PVC and ABS foam pipe, using Safoam/Saftec concentrates.


Complete line of blowing agents for most polymers and applications.

Offers AccelMax endothermic chemical blowing agent concentrates including products for PE rotomold parts: BA-RM pellets can be mixed with PE powder to foam the core of a multilayer product, while BA-RMP powder can be mixed with powdered PE to foam monolayer walls.


Chemical blowing-agent dispersions in concentrates, liquids, or dry-powders. Up to 12.5% azo and hydrazide active ingredients in a universal carrier permit letdowns from 100:1 to 40:1. Suitable for injection molding and extrusion of all polyolefins and styrenics.

Polyester Curatives


Water-Wet benzoyl peroxide in paste and granular formulations. Granulars offered in 70%, 75%, and 78% concentration. Standard paste products from 25-55% are smooth, non-separating creams (pigmented or unpigmented) for marine repair and polyester or acrylic adhesives,polyester auto body putty; specialty formulations available. Low-viscosity, pourable, pumpable, sprayable emulsions at 20%-40% by weight for use where granular or high-viscosity pastes are not applicable. Lower concentrations on request. Mono-Pak custom additive packages for elevated-temperature molding of reinforced plastics may contain catalysts, mold releases, thickeners, and pigments. Preweighed mixtures of additives supplied in a soluble package that can be dropped unopened into the resin mix, eliminating preweighing, saving labor, simplifying inventories, and eliminating rejects caused by weighing errors involving critical additives. Specializes in custom formulated pastes to meet requirements in assay, viscosity, pigmentation, and stability where mix ratios dictate peroxide activity level.


Ethyl acetoacetate, methyl acetoacetate, dimethyl acetoacetamide, monomethyl acetoacetamide, and acetoacetanilide are lowcolor copromoters for room-temperature cure of unsaturated polyesters.

Polyblak carbon black concentrates contain different carbon black types at various loadings in such carriers as LDPE, LLDPE, PP, EVA, PS, and ABS.

New, full fluorescent color range may be used at loadings up to 1.0 % by mass in HDPE and PP resins in contact with all food types under conditions of use E-G defined in 21 CFR 176.170(c). When used as intended, GPF colors comply fully with the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and all applicable regulations. Bayplast chromatic organic pigments designed for easy dispersement demonstrate high heat resistance and good to excellent lightfastness. Line consists of quinacridones, perylenes and phthalos. Patented granular form offers advantages, which include low dusting for quicker cleanup and a positive environmental impact, higher bulk density for easier and cheaper storage, free flowing for ease of incorporation and use with automatic metering systems, and a better solubility for greater dispersibility and processing.

Macrolex dyes have good transparency, high tinting strength and ease of use. Macrolex also supplied in microgranular form.

Bayferrox synthetic iron oxide pigments based on the Laux manufacturing process demonstrate superior performance characteristics, particularly when used with polyolefins and are available in various shades of red, black and yellow as well as blended browns. Reds are temperature stable to about 1000[degrees]C.

Colortherm yellow iron oxides and zinc ferrites with improved temperature capabilities offer superior lightfastness, can be compounded in concentrate, and find applications in polyolefins and some engineering plastics.

Lightfast mixed metal oxide pigments offer high temperature stability, superior lightfastness and resin compatibility. Products, which are not blends, result from solid-state synthetic reactions that take place under calcination conditions; and include lemon yellows, blues, greens and black.


ClearTint colors offer the clearest and brightest colors for transparent polypropylene. ClearTint can be used as light tint to mask residual haze or for deep, rich shades. ClearTint colors enhance aesthetics while maintaining the glass clarity look of Millad NX 8000 clarified polypropylene.

Thermoplastic microspheres are ultra-lightweight, flexible, and resilient. Average density between 0.025 and 0.060 g/cc; average particle diam. of 20 to 140 microns. Uniform cell structure and compatibility with resins such as PUR, epoxies, PVC, and PE. Also used in polyesters as a lightweight filler that imparts enough flexibility to the composite to reduce cracking and brittleness.

Available unexpanded for in-situ foaming. RIM applications incorporate Expancel DU (dry, unexpanded) to achieve target densities and reduce shrinkage. PVC plastisols use Expancel DU for uniform, controlled voids in foaming. Grades available at expansion temperatures from 176 to 400 F.


Diatomaceous silicas (diatomite) used as antiblock agents in LDPE, LLDPE, and HDPE films. Use levels can range from 0.1% to 1%. Diatomite lends itself well to masterbatching at levels of 50% by weight. Super Floss grade offers good optical properties at an economical cost.

Min-U-Sil micronized silica from 5 to 40 micron top size; Sil-Co-Sil ground silica from 40 to 125 micron top size; and Snow-Tex calcined kaolin clay.

Min-U-Sil and Sil-Co-Sil contain at least 99.5% pure SiO2 and are used in products requiring rigid control of physical and chemical properties. Durability and chemical inertness suit them to epoxies and unsaturated polyesters.

Snow-Tex, a superior Ti[O.sup.2] extender for PVC systems, has a high covering power, gives desirable flow properties and reduces the amount of costly pigments required.


Offers silica, nepheline syenite, and feldspar. Whole-grain and ground silica offered for polyester and epoxy systems. High-quality nepheline syenite is good for thermoplastics where color is important. Vancote silane-treated Vansil wollastonite is used to improve flexural and impact strength, and dimensional stability.

Clay products in different particle sizes include Dixie clay (0.2-micron average) and McNamee clay (2-micron average).

Flame Retardants


Polyflam flame-retardant concentrates include Polyflam RS 425C3 for 3:1 letdown in high-heat, high-impact PS to give UL 94V-0; and highly stable Polyflam RCP 770 for LDPE and HDPE film with letdown ratios from 10:1 to 4:1.


Flame-retardant concentrates in standard formulations or custom made. Pellets, cubes and powders available for use in most thermoplastics. Concentrates can incorporate color and/or other additives.


Flame-retardant concentrate No. 11341 used in polyolefin film extrusion and injection molding.

Concentrate FR 11371 reportedly can be processed at 600[degrees]F without adverse side effects and is suitable for HDPE, LDPE and their copolymers. Applications include extrusion coating of scrims for canvas replacement, construction paper and films, disposable clothing, and oil-can stock.

Concentrate FR 40173 with a maximum operating temperature of 520[degrees]F aimed primarily at unfilled PP. Its ability to disperse thoroughly and uniformly throughout the polymer reportedly makes it suitable for mono- and multifilament extrusion. Other applications are carpet backing, face yarn, rope, injection molded chairs, pipe fittings, and extruded film, sheet, and profiles.

Cesa-flam masterbatches offer a wide range of efficient and universally usable halogenated flame retardants as well as some specific halogen-free solutions. Unlike flame retardants that are incorporated into the polymer molecule during polymerization, flame-retardant masterbatches allow variable dosing levels and thus enhance flexibility during process. Effects may be either physical or chemical, occurring in either the gaseous or solid phase. Custom masterbatches also available along with masterbatches that combine active ingredients with selected pigments and dyestuffs.


Offers several grades of Exolit ammonium polyphosphate-based flame retardants for PUR foams, thermoplastics, elastomers, and thermosets.

Exolit AP 760 is particularly suitable for PP and PE, meeting UL94 V-0 flame retardant specifications. AP 751 fuctionalized version is for fiber reinforced PP compounds. Other new halogen-free grades are Exolit OP 550 reactive liquid phosphorous-based polyol for flexible and rigid polyether foams and new Exolit OP range of flame retardants for polyamide and polyester applications.


Chlorinated paraffins include Chlorez resin grades (70% chlorine) and Paroil and Chloroflo liquid grades (30-70% chlorine). Liquid grades serve dual function of plasticizer and flame retardant in plastics and elastomers. Resin grades serve as low-cost flame-retardant extenders for chlorinated rubber, epoxies, etc. High halogen content offers maximum flame retardancy in polyolefins, urethanes, and unsaturated polyesters. Also Chlorez 700-SSNP, a 74% chlorine resin with ultra-high melt point of 320[degrees]F recommended for polyolefins and styrenics.

Our non-halogenated polyphosphonate copolymers and homopolymers provide a range of toughness, are transparent, possess high melt flow and achieve the highest limiting oxygen index of all commercially available thermoplastics. FRX Polymers are particularly well suited for use as both inherently flame retardant plastics and as polymeric flame retardent additives.

Talc and Mica could be used in flame retardant formulations for improving mechanical properties. High aspect ratio products such as Luzenac HAR talc as well as mica products are most sutiable as they offer enhanced barier properties that could improve flame retardant performance in many formulations. Talc products also help with enhancing char content and char strength in flame retardant formulations.


Ken-React pyrophosphate-derived titanate coupling agents are said to act also as flame retardants. When used with mineral fillers, they reportedly enhance flame resistance without an increase in cost or handling difficulty or loss of physical and rheological properties relative to unfilled or lightly filled compounds. Product is said to prevent splaying or exudation of antimony oxide/halogentype systems.


Disflamoll phosphoric acid esters serve as flame-retardant plasticizers in PVC. Line includes various aryl, alkyl, and alkylaryl esters.


SFR 100 high-viscosity silicone fluid may be used as a flame retardant in polyolefins and needs no antimony oxide when compounded properly with a Group IIA metal organic salt and other ingredients. Will improve impact resistance of olefins, especially at low temperatures. Also results in easier mold fill and lower-temperature processing and can meet UL 94V-0/V5 flammability criteria.


Produces a proprietary line of polyolefin flame-retardant compounds and concentrates serving wire & cable, molding and extrusion markets. Also manufactures XR Sheet, a wood-filled polypropylene sheet serving automotive, transportation and building & construction markets.


PCC now offers a new line of safe, nonhalogenated flame retardant systems for polypropylene. FlamaSol FR contains no decabromodiphenyl oxide (decabrome) nor antimony, two common ingredients in most flame retardant packages. Decabrome and antimony trioxide are considered potentially toxic and are thus being eliminated in flame retardant formulations, with manufacturing scheduled to cease in 2012.

The PCC Solutions Center developed FlamaSol FR in response to a rising need in the marketplace for safer flame resistant plastics. Our team of scientists at PCC tested a wide variety of materials under simulated temperature and combustion conditions to find the best formulations for our customers.

PCC's new non-brominated flame retardant PP system produces superb extinguishing performance without the use of these hazardous chemicals. FlamaSol FR is ideal for use in construction materials (electrical conduit, junction boxes, switch boxes), warehousing products (shelving and pallets), personal electronic equipment (computers, printers and televisions) and other applications where extreme heat may cause ignition. Products made with FlamaSol FR will self-extinguish, protecting surroundings and personnel from fire hazards.

FlamaSol FR for PP surpasses testing standards of UL 94 and ANSI 4996 for plastic pallets and performs better than our previous flame retardant systems. FlamaSol FR PP is appropriate for use in injection molding, extrusion and blow molding applications.


FRC-2005 flame retardant/uv stabilizer concentrate system for polyolefins provides a combination of properties for film, sheet, foams and molded articles. Paraloid and Paraloid EXL are all-acrylic or MBS impact modifiers for vinyl and other engineering resins. Paraloid KM-300, Paraloid KM-5000/4000 series and the premium Paraloid KM-XIOOPro all-acrylic impact modifiers add toughness, color retention and weatherability to vinyls for longterm outdoor exposure. KM-XIOOPro and KM-5450 include processing aid. Paraloid KM-377 acrylic impact modifier can reduce gloss significantly. Specialized additives or processing is not necessary to attain a premium wood-like siding surface. Paraloid KM-377 will also narrow the variability in gloss due to processing variations. Paraloid BTA-700 series MBS impact modifiers give superior toughness in nonweatherable applications. BTA-736S offers high-impact efficiency with superior clarity and good resistance to crease whitening. BTA-753ER gives maximum toughness at ambient or low temperature in general-purpose opaque vinyl. Paraloid EXL-3300 series acrylic tougheners are for weatherable applications of engineering resins requiring good color retention. EXL-3330 offers good inherent thermal stability, resistance to uv degradation, and balance of toughness. EXL-3361 gives enhanced thermal stability and good balance of properties including colorability. Paraloid EXL3600 series MBS tougheners for engineering resins give superior low-temperature impact resistance. EXL-3611 is a reactive toughener for nylon. EXL-3691A is a general-purpose toughener providing a balance of low-temperature impact resistance and modulus for engineering resins. The Paraloid series of specialty and multifunctional additives are designed for adding only one product to the blending operation. Paraloid KM-5450 and Paraloid KM-XIOOPro contain impact modifier and processing aids. Paraloid multifunctional additives are blended in a liquid state and isolated into powder as one product. This ensures accurate ratios of the components and consistent performance.


Company's toughening technologies involve ethylene terpolymers, ionomers, and grafted polyolefins.

Ethylene terpolymers provide impact resistance over a broad temperature range, particularly at low temperatures, for various thermoplastics. In thermoplastics, ethylene terpolymers improve impact resistance of PVC, ABS, SAN, SMA, and PC. In PVC they offer improved weatherability and easier processing resulting from a reduction in melt viscosity. Weatherability is also improved in ABS.

Surlyn ionomer resins provide low-temperature impact properties in nylon 6 and nylon 66. In TPOs, ionomers enhance abrasion resistance and paintability.

In reinforced PP and PE compounds, Fusabond anhydride-grafted polyolefin modifiers improve toughness by increasing adhesion between reinforcements and the resin matrix. Fusabond N anhydride-grafted EP rubbers provide superior toughening in 6 and 66 nylon.


Epolene G-3003 and G-3015 function as coupling agents to improve impact strength in highly filled polymers such as polyolefins and nylon polymers.


Expancel expandable thermoplastic microspheres used as blowing agents and low-density fillers also serve as impact modifiers for thermosets and elastomers. Resilient nature of spheres allows deformation without breakage, thereby improving impact resistance and reducing stress. In elastomeric materials, the resiliency of Expancel improves compatibility between filler and matrix material.


Exact polyolefin plastomer impact modifiers for PP, PE, and styrenic block copolymers. Exxelor reactive polymers are functionally grafted polyolefins used for impact modifying engineering thermoplastics and polyolefins.

Exxpro specialty elastomers with bromine functionality are durable and weatherable. Provide impact enhancement in a number of different polymers for extreme environments.

Other impact modifiers include Escor acid terpolymers, Iotek ionomers, and Optema ethylene methyl acrylate (EMA) polymers.


SpectraSyn liquid polymer modifiers improve polyolefins by enhancing their performance range. PARALOID K 100 series acrylic processing aids produce rapid fusion, homogeneous melt, increased melt strength, and easy thermoformability in rigid vinyls. Applications include those requiring weatherability for long-term outdoor exposure such as building products and nonweatherable clear and opaque uses such as containers, film, and sheet.

Series includes PARALOID K-120ND for superior clarity and dispersibility, PARALOID K-125 for high efficiency, and PARALOID K-175 for lubricating to reduce sticking and plateout. PARALOID K-445 is a specialty processing aid, which allows substantial density reduction and superior surface for foamed vinyl.

SURECEL is a high performance foam cell stabilizer for free foam applications where the ability to manufacture very thick cellular PVC sheet parts at low density are attractive attributes. Series includes SURECEL 445, SURECEL T-50 and SURECEL T-55. SURECEL 445 is an acrylic additive which promotes a fine and well controlled foam cell structure in free foam sheet and celuka profiles. SURECEL T-50 is a high efficiency acrylic foam cell promoter designed to enable the extrusion of foam sheet at a density lower than conventional process aid technology. Finally, SURECEL T-55 foam cell promoter was developed for cellular vinyl applications such as free-foam sheet where reduction of part density to 0.55 g/cc is desired. SURECEL T-55 is also effective in Celuka process applications where greater efficiency and excellent cell structure are required.


Epolene low-molecular-weight polyolefins as extrusion lubricants for rigid PVC. Also useful as processing and mold-release lubricants for ABS, polyesters, PC, nylons, polybutylenes and PE.


Loxiol ester wax additives include internal and external lubricants:

* Glycerol esters for co-stabilizing effect and flow. Useful in clear PVC and FDA-approved applications.

* Simple esters such as Loxiol G-32, G40 and G60 for thermal stability, low water sensitivity, and replacement of amide waxes.

* Partial esters of polyfunctional alcohols such as Loxiol P728 for balancing properties of ester internal lubricants.

* Polymeric polyfunctional alcohol fatty acid compounds for metal release, and as economical replacements for montan esters and F-T waxes.

* Ester-based co-stabilizing lubricants for improvement in thermostability of PVC formulations, reducing stabilizer levels. Recommended for opaque, rigid PVC fittings, profiles, siding, sheet, and foamed PVC.

Most have FDA approval for use with food and impart good clarity to transparent articles such as vacuum formable blisterpack sheet and bottles. Applications in PVC, rigid frames and PC, phenolics, acrylics and nylons. Advantages include good printability, water-blush resistance, reduction of die swell, prevention of sinks in injection molding, superior melt flow, lower plateout, and improved compatibility.

Paraffin-free co-stabilizing esters for rigid PVC extrusion, high output, low plateout and optimal process window.


SpectraSyn liquid polymer modifiers improve polyolefins by lowering their melt viscosity, which enables faster cycles and line speeds and also aids filler dispersions. These modifiers also enhance flexibility, toughness, and elasticity of polyethylenes, polypropylenes, TPOs, TPVs, ethylene plastomers, and specialty olefinic TPEs. They also have some compatibility with styrenic TPEs such as those based on SEBS. SpectraSyn polymer modifiers are highly compatible with polyolefins and have minimal effect on heat resistance.


Titanate coupling agents said to be highly effective lubricants at use levels below 2% of filler content. In filled systems they reportedly cut need for processing lubricants by 75-90%. Titanate and zirconate coupling agents also increase flow of unfilled polymers.

Kenplast ESB cumyl phenol benzoate, a solid processing aid, said to improve molding and extrusion characteristics and enhance physical properties of finished product. Used in PVC extrusion, RIM urethanes, and nylon processing.


Lubricants for all types of applications include dry film coatings, oils, greases, pastes and anti-seize products.


NanoCeramicMoldGrease contains submicroscopic ceramic particles, that have an affinity to steel, suspended in an over based calcium sulfonate thickener within a midviscosity petroleum based paste. The result is a super low coefficient of friction lubricant with unsurpassed resilience and superior adhesion. NanoCeramicMoldGrease lasts 10 times longer than conventional greases. Extreme shear stability prevents softening and run out during use. Operating temperature range: -40[degrees]F to 800[degrees]F. The ceramic particles can temporarily lubricate to 2,500[degrees]F. Sulfonate chemistry is a known corrosion and rust inhibitor. High load bearing properties. NSF Food Grade Approved. Viscosity is maintained across a wide temperature range. Low dielectric constant. Does not contain PTFE or silicon.

PAC-0154 is an economical, high-efficiency processing-aid concentrate said to offer a superior combination of properties and lower usage levels than earlier concentrates. At low addition levels, it is said to eliminate melt fracture, die buildup and gel formation. FSC-0500V is a fast-blooming oleamide slip concentrate derived from 100% vegetable sources. It is designed for use in PE foodpackaging films complying with dietary restrictions. It is said to be more cost-effective than erucamide-based slip concentrates.


Custom lubricant and processing-aid concentrates contain as much as 60% additive. Specialty additive concentrates in pellet form include:

* CR5 recommended for PP to reduce viscosity, increase melt-flow rates, and reduced process temperatures and cycle times during molding at use levels of 0.25-1.0%.

* PA3-FP2 active fluoroelastomer concentrate specifically for use in LLDPE film applications.

* STRUKTOL TR 229 A unique product that is a combination of blending aid compatibilizer with processing lubricant for use in both PC and PC/ABS blends as well as Nylon 6 and 6,6 compounds. It can be used in FDA applications. It is also ideal for use in recycled applications.

* STRUKTOL TR EBS Dispersant Ethylene bisstearamide wax for a wide range of polymers used for improved dispersion of pigments and fillers and viscosity modification. STRUKTOL TR EBS VG is manufactured from high quality vegetable acid with low iodine value.

The coating is created by forming a nano scale barrier from nano formulated molecules that chemically bond to steel, while repelling oil and water. NanoMoldCoating is nontoxic, does not migrate onto plastic parts and can withstand temperatures up to 1000[degrees]F. NanoMoldCoating does not affect the dimensional aspects of parts. NanoMoldCoating can help reduce molding pressures and molding temperatures. NanoMoldCoating can facilitate part release for up to and in many cases exceeding 300,000 cycles per coat, depending on the molded material, fillers, mold design, material flow rates and pressures. NanoMoldCoating can be used for virtually any molded material including heavy glass and mineral filled resins, rubber and silicones and can be applied to any steel or aluminum substrate, as well as other materials. Low odor, low migration, and resistance to extraction reportedly make them suitable for all flexible, semi-rigid and rigid PVC compounds. Vikoflex 7190 recommended for food-contact and medical applications where very little or no metallic stabilizer is used.Also Vikoflex 4050 low-temperature epoxy ester plasticizer and low-viscosity esters of epoxidized soybean and linseed acids.


Uresin B carbamate resin for plasticizing PVC and other plastic films.


Paroil liquid chlorinated paraffins as secondary plasticizers for flexible PVC.


Elvaloy resin modifiers for PVC include grades suitable for impact modification. Products have an extremely high molecular weight (250,000), which makes PVC compounds more durable. Reportedly, they have near zero extraction and essentially zero volatility, migration, and exudation, and provide heat, oil and uv resistance. Have been used commercially for calendered, extruded and injection molded products. Applications include office chair mats, pond liners, single-ply roofing, automotive interior applications, upholstery, wire and cable insulation, floor tile, hose and tubing, and footwear..


Eastman plasticizers for PVC include phthalates as well as adipates and trimellitates. Eastman DOTP, dioctyl terephthalate, offered as a replacement for DOP and similar plasticizers in applications requiring improved durability, good electrical properties, and improved automotive fogging resistance. Allows use of PVC in contact with furniture finishes because it has little tendency to migrate and soften nitrocellulose lacquers.


Edenol epoxy plasticizers, low-temperature and specialty polymeric plasticizers. Edenol products add flexibility and enhance compatibility with polymers and fillers, They are suitable in applications having FDA or phthalate-free requirements. Primary markets uses are in electrical tapes, pressure-sensitive tapes, decals automotive applications and hoses.

Edenol 1208 polymeric plasticizer is a phthalate-free, low viscosity, plasticizer suitable for use in applications with FDA requirements.

Edenol 9058 (DOZ) monomeric plasticizer used in film and decals offers superior low-temperature properties as well as permanence and weatherability. Edenol 9762 recommended for electrical tapes and pressure-sensitive tapes and also in adhesive tapes because of its resistance to migration into rubber or acrylic-based adhesives.


Jayflex plasticizers, used alone or in custom blends include branched and linear phthalates such as diisohexyl (DHP), diisoheptyl (77), diisononyl (DINP), diisodecyl (DIDP), ditridecyl (DTDP), undecyl dodecyl (UDP), diL-nonyl (L9P), di-L-nonyl, undecyl (L911P), and di-L-undecyl (LI IP); trimellitates such as triisooctyl (TIOTM) and triisononyl (TINTM); adipates such as diisononyl (DINA), diisooctyl (DIOA), diisodecyl (DIDA), and ditridecyl (DTDA); and extenders and specialty plasticizers.

Linear C9 phthalate plasticizer, Jayflex L9P, provides lower volatility and fogging in automotive vinyls and is useful in roofing membranes and pond liners where superior stability is required.


Low-cost, proprietary plasticizers include aromatic hydrocarbons compatible with PVC, rubber, acrylonitrile, and SAN.

Kenplast G low-viscosity mixture of alkylated naphthalenes and phenanthrenes is an extender for epoxies, a secondary plasticizer for PVC, and a reportedly excellent compatibilizer for PVC/vinyl acetate combinations. When used in place of DOP, Kenplast G reportedly is more solvating than ester-type plasticizers, thus contributing to build in plastisols and enhance elongation.

Kenflex resins are derived from formaldehyde condensation of aromatic hydrocarbons. These nonvolatile, very high-flashpoint solids reportedly impart in-process flexibility at elevated temperatures without detracting from the finished product's properties once it has been cooled. Available in various solvent and compounded forms for specific uses such as compatibilization of rubbers and plastics, and enhancing of mold release of hard-to-handle materials.

Plasticizers derived from cumyl phenol available as either glycidylether or acetate for use as a reactive diluent and flexibilizer for epoxies, PVC and urethanes. Higher temperature forms such as benzoate Kenplast ESB are useful in extrusion of PVC, urethane RIM, and in processing nylons. Cumyl phenyl benzyl ether is said to be an effective processing aid for extrusion of styrenics, SAN, polysulfones and phenylene oxide-based resins, as well as a compatibilizer for elastomers in PS, nylon, polyester and ABS.


Mesamoll plasticizer based on alkyl sulfonic ester of a phenol is said to have superior compatibility with PVC, resulting in flexible vinyls with good mechanical, thermal and electrical properties. Mesamoll and Mesamoll II lower-volatility versions also used in PUR caulk/sealant compounds where properties of low viscosity, hydrolysis resistance, extraction resistance and good solvency are needed.

Ultramoll 66M micronized powder version of dicyclohexyl phthalate can be useful in improving storage stability and fusing characteristics of low-temperature-fusing vinyl plastisols.

Disflamoll phosphate esters are used to impart flame retardance and flexibility to plasticized vinyls. Products include a range of aryl, alkylaryl and alkyl esters.



Polybatch antioxidant concentrates include different carriers and other additives as required.


Antioxidants include hindered phenols, mercapto-benzimidazoles, dihydroquinoline, butylated paracresol, amines, and unsaturated acetals.


Concentrates contain antioxidants, uv absorbers, and other stabilizers.

Available for almost all thermoplastics in cubes, pellets, and powders.


Cesa-nox antioxidant masterbatches are formulated to combat thermo-oxidative decomposition at each stage of the plastic life cycle from manufacturing, drying and processing through to end use. Multiple antioxidant additives can be combined in a single masterbatch formulation to protect against different oxidative threats. Custom masterbatches also available along with masterbatches that combine active ingredients with selected pigments and dyestuffs.


Hostanox P-EPQ high-molecular-weight phosphonite secondary antioxidant for polyolefins and engineering resins is stable to 660 F and highly soluble and compatible in polyolefins, especially lower-density polyethylenes. Broadly FDA-approved with low migration, it synergizes with sulfur and phenolic antioxidants and lactones and is not deactivated by fillers such as talc. Especially suited for low-water-carryover polyolefin applications like 2X100 mil slit tapes. Also recommended for applications requiring high clarity. Product continues to be used for all polyolefins, styrenics, PC, polyesters, polyamides, polyether imides and other engineering resins to aid in maintaining color, rheological control and physical properties. Hostanox P-EPQ also inhibits burnout of many borderline heat-stable colorants for polyolefins and engineering resins and aids in dispersion of fillers and colorants and extends uv stability of recycled resins by providing better physical property retention of recycled resins prior to uv exposure.

Hostanox 03 hindered phenolic antioxidant recommended for low-water extractability in appliance and nonappliance applications for extended long-term thermo-oxidative stability. It is synergistic with sulfur-based secondary antioxidants.

Hostanox OSP-1 metal deactivator and antioxidant has stronger metal deactivating properties than other metal deactivators.


Dovernox solid hindered phenol antioxidants used as processing stabilizers for various polymers.

Doverphos liquid and solid organophosphites used as heat stabilizers for PVC, ABS, and polyolefins and also improve color stability in polyesters, polyurethanes, and alkyds.


Hydroquinone derivatives are antioxidants for polyether polyols. Eastman Inhibitor OABH is a copper deactivator for polyolefins, especially in wire insulation. Tenox BHT and Tenox BHA are food-grade antioxidants for PE packaging.


Titanate coupling agents provide antioxidant metal deactivation. Reported to be highly dispersible and about 25 times more efficient than products such as alkyl triaryl phosphites.


Vulkanox antioxidant and antiozonant products protect against oxygen, heat, and unoriented crack formulation (crazing), and are also effective, to some extent, against fatigue. Several nonstaining grades, where staining is absent or minimal, are used in light-colored and transparent applications.


The Company has developed high performance antioxidants for plastics and lubricants based on its proprietary DT-mPM technology providing superior performance. Our innovative technmology provides excellent thermo-oxidative stability to a wide range of materials including polyolefinspolyethylene(HDPE,LDPE) and polyproylene PP), and thermoplastics elastomers (TPE).


Specialty additive concentrates, liquid or solid, with or without colorants available with antioxidants and other additives.


Concentrates of phenolics, phosphites, or blends of the two to meet any application in polyolefins.


Custom-formulated antioxidant concentrates for commodity resins can include other additives and processing aids.

PVC Heat Stabilizers


Organotin stabilizers offered for rigid PVC. Thermolite 175, 175C, 310 and 310C are liquid organic stabilizers. Thermolite System 4 is a multifunctional stabilizer-lubricant for PVC pipe extrusion. Thermolite 176, based on tin technology, is a part-for-part replacement for Thermolite 175C and Thermolite 3 IOC. Superior cost/performance, color hold, and odor are among Thermolite 176's reported advantages.

Thermolite T-133 and T-137 for injection molding; T-137, T-34, and T-31 Super for siding and profiles; and Thermolite T-149 for foam profiles. Thermolite 31 is used in every process (profile, sheet, pipe), as well as any PVC or CPVC polymer or copolymer.

For rigid PVC containers and extruded sheet, Thermolite 31, 66 and 108 are recommended depending on formulation and equipment variables. General-purpose bottle stabilizers with improved cost/performance are in development.

Thermolite 350 and other customized organotin maleate stabilizers for calendered rigid PVC film/sheet where resistance to sulfide staining is required. Tin mercaptides available for products not requiring sulfide stain protection.

Radiation and heat stabilizers for PVC medical devices and packaging are said to offer resistance to color degradation and loss of physical properties upon exposure to gamma irradiation.

Thermolite 831 and 813 octyltins are major stabilizers for use in food-grade bottle and sheet applications. Also octyltins based on a mono-octyltin derivative and FDA-approved.


Doverphos liquid and solid organophosphites used as heat stabilizers for PVC, ABS, and polyolefins.


Organotin heat stabilizers for rigid vinyl include ADVASTAB TM-181FS high-performance tin stabilizer for siding, profiles, injection and blow molding and FDA compliant applications; TM-694 tin stabilizer for pipe; TM-3412 for siding and pipe.

ADVAPAK S-1201 "one-pack" multifunctional lubricating stabilizer recommended for high-output vinyl pipe production on twin-screw extruders. ADVAPAK S-1100, S-1201 and S-1401 are lubricant packages for injection molding, pipe and siding and profile applications respectively.

UV Stabilizers


Polybatch additive concentrates include different carriers and slip and antiblock, antistatic and uv resistant, antifogging, foaming, and antioxidant products.


Concentrates contain uv stabilizers, antioxidants and any other required stabilizing additive. Can be made for almost any thermoplastic as cubes, pellets, or powders.


Products 10407 and 10478 contain hindered amine light stabilizers and offer equivalent protection at lower concentrations than traditional absorbers such as benzophenones and nickel-based products. Product 40559 contains 20% of a hindered amine light stabilizer in PP. Product 10561 contains 20% of a polymeric HALS in LDPE. Product 100600 contains 10% of a new HALS performance blend in LDPE. Spectratech products include concentrates containing a range of different light stabilizers.


Black Pearls and Vulcan small-particle carbon black products for use as uv absorbers.


Custom formulations in concentrate form for most thermoplastics. Also with other additives.


Cesa-light uv-stabilizer masterbatches provide outstanding protection against the degrading effects of sunlight, heat and oxygen on the mechanical, optical and physical performance of plastic parts. CESA-light family includes uv absorbers widely used in food, drug and personal care packaging; nickel quenchers, which dispose of absorbed energy as heat or as fluorescent or phosphorescent radiation; and hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS), which act as radical interceptors that effectively inhibit polymer degradation. Some masterbatches combine HALS and uv absorbing components and can also include other beneficial additives such as antioxidants. Custom masterbatches also available along with masterbatches that combine active ingredients with selected pigments and dyestuffs.


Broad selection of hindered amine light stabilizers from monomeric, oligomeric, to photereactive include Hostavin N20 and N24 monomeric HALS for polyolefins. Hostavin N24 recommended for acrylics and geotextile applications. Both products are suitable for pigmented thick-section applications.

Hostavin N30 FDA-approved oligomeric HALS provides enhanced long-term thermooxidative stability to polyolefins allowing for a reduction in primary antioxidant needs, which can translate into better overall initial in PE applications. Greater solubility and compatibility decrease plate-out, migration and blooming during and after film fabrication.

Nonhydroxy substituted uv absorbers as well as standard uv absorbers. Sanduvor VSU (oxalanilide family) white, free-flowing polar uva with low volatility and superior absorptivity and sharp cutoff below 350 nm recommended for polyamide, polyesters, PVC, styrenics, PC, polyacetals, PMMA, and several coating-related applications including unsaturated polyesters, polyurethane and acrylic resins. Because of product's sharp cutoff below 350 nm, it does not inhibit fluorescent pigment at lower wavelengths. As a nonhydroxy substituted uv absorber, Hostavin VSU does not interact with catalytic impurities, which cause major discoloration, and is inert to radical chemistries that lead to discoloration.

Hostavin PR 25 (benzylidene malonate ester) nonhydroxy substituted uv absorber with absorptivities above 100 liters has a lambda maxima at 310 nm and sharp cutoff at 350 nm. Polar soluble and clean looking, product specifically designated for applications that require low discoloration and uv protection during early stages of exposure. Recommended for PVC, styrenics, acrylics, PC and polyesters. Inert to radical chemistries and catalytic impurities.

Additive modifier Nylostab SEED is recommended for the stabilization of nylon. It is white, free-flowing and offered for thick-and thin-section nylon resins. Highly polar and with extremely low volatility, Nylostab SEED is unrestricted in use in all polyamide chemistries including the new transparent nylons.


Eastman Inhibitor RMB useful for cellulosics.


Additive concentrates for polyolefins includes UVC-1081, an advanced stabilizer that provides longterm polymer protection from processing, heat aging, airborne chemicals and UV light.


Specialty additive concentrates in solid or liquid form, with or without colorants, contain uv stabilizers and other additives.


Concentrates for polyolefins in extrusion coating, cast and blown film, injection molding, sheet, and profiles. Many stock uv products available.



UV inhibitor and antioxidant stabilizer concentrate packages in various resins offered separately or with color. Custom and multifunctional concentrates tailored to simplify handling and weigh up.
