13 January 2020 - Arizona-based digital education company Weld North Education has acquired K-12 digital curriculum provider LearnZillion to strengthen digital core curriculum capabilities with customisable, classroom-ready tools for teachers, the company said.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

This acquisition is WNE's first foray within the digital core market traditionally served through textbooks.

Together with WNE's digital intervention, supplemental and assessment solutions, LearnZillion will reduce the reliance on textbooks which cannot generate the data required to personalise instruction.

LearnZillion marks the third significant acquisition by pure-play digital education company Weld North Education. LearnZillion will broaden the solutions provided by the core businesses within WNE: Edgenuity and Imagine Learning.

Weld North Education, in partnership with Silver Lake, is a digital education technology company focussed on developing digital curriculum and tools for PreK-12 students.

LearnZillion curates and publishes core instructional materials, supported by professional development. LearnZillion is committed to helping educators plan and deliver powerful, lasting learning experiences.
