Weight Watchers Food Company introduces three exciting new frozen novelties.

Alexander the Great, so we're told, was wild about iced beverages. Nero, the Roman emperor, flavored snow with nectar, fruit pulp and honey. Marco Polo travelled to Europe with recipes for water ices. In 1812, Dolly Madison was the belle of America's second presidential inaugural ball, serving ice cream to the crowd of delighted guests. And, in the Roaring '20s, ice cream on sticks, ice cream bars, ice milk and sherbert, were the rage, quickly becoming known collectively as Novelties. Today, especially during summer, novelties are hotter than ever.

"Long days, warm memories, good friends and frozen novelties make for a perfect summer," said Brian A. Ruder, president and CEO, Weight Watchers Food Company. "We've taken a universally loved dessert, ensured the nutritionals and taste meet our standards, and introduced three wonderful new items. Here's to the Summer of 1993!"

The leader in brand share of the reduced calorie novelty segment, Weight Watchers Food Company, continues building brand dominance with the introduction of three exciting new novelties.

Berries 'N Creme Mousse is a refreshing blend of luscious berry and creme flavor, whipped together to create a rich and smooth mousse bar; Chocolate Almond Crunch Bars are an indulgent new ice milk candy bar with the savory tastes of sweet coconut, crunchy almonds and rich gooey caramel, all in a milk chocolate flavored coating; and Crispy Pralines 'N Creme Bars combine the rich, indulgent taste of everyone's favorite ice cream flavor, Pralines 'N Creme, with crisped rice in a rich milk chocolate flavored coating.

Berries 'N Creme Mousse Bars have a suggested retail price of $3.19, and $2.59 for Chocolate Almond Crunch Bars and Crispy Pralines 'N Creme Bars. These new items began shipping February 15, 1993.
