Weekend Radio: SOUNDS OF THE WEEK.
SWEDISH faves The Caesars are in session on Razor Cuts this week. The four piece play with the same genuine glow as obscure 60s teenage bands the Ramones borrowed from.
Expect fully calibrated pop with fizzling fuzz-buzz guitars and howling Farfisa organs. The instruments have that unique vintage sound, as if the tapes were buried for years and now they finally explode in the grooves.
Their sound combines the organ-drenched sound of '60s rock with contemporary pop thrust which nabbed the band two Gold Records in native Sweden.
What sets The Caesars apart is their stunning mixture of classic garage rock elements with touches of the electronic DJ era, which has led Q, to name the Caesars as one of "The Top 10 Acts For 2003."
Inspiral Carpets frontman Clint Boon also joins Pete Mitchell in the studio to pick his favourite tracks. Expect to hear all the old favourites, including This Is How It Feels, and She Comes In The Fall.
Razor Cuts, Sunday, 7.00pm, Virgin Radio
