WebSafe Selects Southern Telecom Co-Location Facility.

ATLANTA -- Southern Telecom(R), a wholly owned subsidiary of Southern Company (NYSE: SO), today announced it has expanded its co-location customer base with the addition of WebSafe, a provider of secure Internet-based document management systems. Southern Telecom provides wholesale dark fiber optic cable and co-location solutions to large enterprise and telecom carrier customers.

WebSafe chose Southern Telecom to host its customer data to ensure the highest levels of document security. Southern Telecom's highly secure co-location facility in Birmingham, Ala. provides:

--Class-A structure with climate controlled environment, two separate power feeds and backup generators

--Limited personnel access with 24/7 security video surveillance and guards

--Redundant communications via multiple carriers

--Advance fire protection techniques including full HALON system
