Held in Hong Kong in December 2006, the IEEE/WIC/ACM International Conference on Web Intelligence drew researchers and students from around the world to discuss the roles and impacts of Artificial Intelligence and advanced Information Technology on the next generation of Web-empowered products, systems, services, and activities. This proceedings volume contains around 60 full-length papers plus approximately twice as many short papers that were originally presented there. These are organized into sections focusing on such areas as knowledge community formation and support; Web mining and farming; intelligent human-Web interaction; and semantics and ontology engineering. A subject index is lacking.
