Web Watch

This official site is worth a look, especially if you're on the way Down Under. As well as all the usual guff about the sports on offer, there's an excellent guide to Syndey itself and chance upon chance to spend your money on Olympic memorablia.

For the die-hard sports fan, few sites will be able to match this for the sheer weight of coverage. The Sydney Olympics represent a bit of watershed for BBC Sport, both on television and the Internet. After losing various sport contracts, the BBC knows it must do a great job on the Olympics if credibility is to be restored. As a result, the Beeb is throwing the kitchen sink at it.

For a more Aussie feel, this is the site to visit. As well as news and features with a hometown slant, there are some classic Olympic pictures taken by Oz photographers. The comment section contains the incomprehensible headline 'The spirit must have arrived - even the wallopers have had a Wally Grout'.
