Weather vanes point to a successful Field Day.

A VARIED assortment of competitions, from cake decorating to weather vane making, added colour to Clwyd YFC's Field Day this year.

Events such as Junior Fferm Factor and a mock auction took place alongside more technical competitions, from stockjudging to fencing and tractor handling.

The Field Day was hosted by Ruthin livestock market. Overall winners were Cilcain YFC, with Llangollen YFC second and Nantglyn YFC third. CUP WINNERS: Dairy stockjudging: U17 - Dafydd Jones, Ruthin YFC; U19 - Llywela Edwards, Uwchaled YFC; U22 - Iolo Francis, Llangollen YFC; U27 - Erica Swan, Llangollen YFC.

Stockman of the Year: Junior - Jac Davies, Nantglyn YFC; Senior - Erica Swan, Llangollen YFC.

Stockjudging team: Junior - Nantglyn YFC; Senior - Llangollen YFC.

Other competitions: Tractor driving - Cilcain YFC; Junior dencing - Betws yn Rhos YFC; Junior Fferm Factor - Llangollen YFC; ATV handling - Cilcain YFC; Mock auction - Betws yn Rhos YFC; Cake decorating - Sara Williams, Cilcain YFC; Weather vane - Tom Bates, Llangollen YFC.
