Wealth of learning resources.

SCOLA (, a non-profit organization that uses information technology to help overcome language barriers, has selected a software solution to unify access to its broad range of multi-language learning resources. SCOLA--which offers subscription-based language learning services including international online TV, videos, radio and newspapers in more than 175 native languages--chose Baldwin Hackett & Meeks Inc. (BHMI, and Attivio ( for its unified information access.

SCOLA wanted to offer an advanced user experience in which a single query would return all relevant results, regardless of source or format. Subscribers have only been able to search one media content type at a time. The organization approached BHMI to help find a solution that could be integrated with its Web portal and span all of its multi-language information sources. The company recommended Attivio's Active Intelligence Engine.

Francis Lajba, president and CEO of SCOLA, says, "Over the years, SCOLA has amassed a wealth of international language resources and materials. We want to make this broad spectrum of information more accessible to our clients, while making the user experience more dynamic and interactive."

According to Attivio President and CEO Ali Riaz, "Attivio's value in quickly unifying and accessing the traditionally separate silos of enterprise data and content, advanced text analytics and recommendation engine are resonating across an increasingly large group of customers and industries."
