We want Accountability: CIB kept grounded to forestall public fund embezzlers' prosecution.

NNA - Persisting on grounding the Central Inspection Board (CIB), is meant to forestall the prosecution of public fund embezzlers before the court of law, We Want Accountability activists charged in their public statement today.

We shall persist in protesting for one thousand times against a CIB grounding essentially aimed at forestalling trash-disposal tender attractions, activists added. Also charging the government with procrastination over pushing the CIB at carrying out its work properly, We Want Accountability said the prime minister's inaction constituted a flagrant violation of a law charging that two billion pound worth files had been left to collect dust during the last seven years.

Activists also charged the judge who heads the CIB's Auditing Board with letting files lose their validity along the last four to five years; They also questioned the legality of AUT remunerations to top CIB officials during the last 3 years saying failure to meet twice a month has revealed fraudulent practices based on equally forged documents.

We want Accountability, vowed to press ahead with its anti-corruption campaign up to a point when all culprits and robbers concerned would be unmasked and made to stand trial for the sake of rebuilding Lebanon.
