We still have a slim chance says Griffiths; RUGBY LEAGUE.

NORTH Wales Crusaders coach Clive Griffiths is hoping that his side finish 2012 on a high when they travel to Cumbria to take on Whitehaven this Sunday (3pm).

The Crusaders need a minor miracle to qualify for the play-offs, hoping that winless Gateshead Thunder beat Oldham, but he knows that it's not over until the fat lady sings.

Doncaster travel to London Skolars in the biggest game of the day which has an impact on the Crusaders' position too. If Doncaster win, they take the Championship 1 title, while if the Skolars win, they could qualify for the play-offs if Oldham slip up.

Griffiths said: "Christiaan Roets will be back, Jamie Clark will still be missing but Danny Hulme could be available too.

"We'll have a good squad to pick from for what will probably be our last game but you do never know. Gateshead might do something special and get a win and Doncaster beat Skolars and we sneak in at the back door.

"Until that final hooter goes at the three grounds on Sunday and the fat lady sings, you won't know and I'm proud of the way the boys have dug deep this year and come together at short notice and gelled. Next year we'll knuckle down and have a good pre-season then who knows what will happen?" He added: "It's not beyond us to win this Sunday. Whitehaven had a tough time down at London Skolars last week and now they are confined to finishing fourth. Maybe that's in their mind-set.

"But they'll be looking to put in a good performance before the play-offs to take some confidence into the series. But we'll want to show people how far we've developed this season and finish on a good performance as our last one against Doncaster was unacceptable."
