We pay to let Cherie earn dosh.

Byline: NIGEL NELSON

CHERIE Blair is to line her pockets with ANOTHER overseas lecture trip - and British taxpayers will pick up the pounds 2,000 tab for her security.

The PM's wife will get up to pounds 10,000 to talk in America about her work as a human rights lawyer and plug her book on Downing Street.

Two Scotland Yard close protection officers will accompany her to Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama.

Lib Dem MP Norman Baker stormed: "If she goes abroad to make money for herself, I fail to see why the taxpayer should foot the bill."

The People told last month how taxpayers helped foot the bill as Mrs Blair earned more than pounds 100,000 to raise cash for children's cancer charities in Australia and New Zealand.

A previous US lecture tour netted her pounds 120,000.
