We need more nurses.

I read with interest the Paisley Daily Express edition of Saturday, December 16, regarding waiting times at the Royal Alexandra Hospital.

I know that admissions to A&E departments rise across the country at this time of the year due to wintry conditions and vomiting bugs, but we must do better.

The medical staff perform miracles everyday, often in very trying circumstances, and we all need to do more to support them.

But waiting times of up to eight hours are simply unacceptable in any situation. We need more nurses and more investment to make sure that no-one has to wait for that length of time.

The RAH is a fantastic local resource which needs to be adequately resourced . When I think about the RAH, the phrase"lions led by donkeys"often comes to mind.
