We do liturgy well.
I'm 65 years old and have been a priest for 39 years, but I have begun to lose hope that the U.S. will ever see a new Roman Missal or lectionary before I die. However, my hopes were somewhat raised when I read that Trautman is not afraid to express his disappointment with Rome or to challenge Rome.
The Holy See has a very severe issue with control. Rome does not fully comprehend the church in the United States or that we are a very active church that for the most part celebrates liturgy very well.
Finally, I don't believe that Rome understands that the English language is not the same the world over. Thank you, Bishop Trautman, and keep up the good work for us.
