We can win Cup says Vids.
Goal hero Mark Viduka believes Boro can win the Carling Cup if they get the luck of the draw.
The Australian striker lit up what until that point had been a tepid fourth round tie with a sensational 25-yard equaliser in the 52nd minute.
It was a shot that visibly lifted Boro, who secured their passage into the last eight three minutes later when Viduka set up Szilard Nemeth's outstanding winner.
Assessing Boro's chances, he said: "Anything is possible. A lot of big teams are out of the competition, there have been a lot of upsets and, hopefully, we can get a good draw.
"Anybody can beat anybody else in these competitions and you need some luck to win it but if things go for us we can go all the way."
Viduka is in a rich vein of form and has scored seven goals in 11 starts so far this season, including a stupendous solo effort at Birmingham in August.
Last night's piledriver rivals that earlier effort and certainly gave the prolific forward a great deal of pleasure.
"That's what we play football for - moments like that," he said. "Szilard won the ball and played it through, it bounced up perfectly for me and I just hit it on the half-volley and the rest is history - I was rapt."
Looking back at the tie, he added: "We knew it would a tough match. Palace kicked out Liverpool in the last round and we anticipated a tough night. We're just happy to be through because it could have easily gone the other way."
