We're no dummies learning first aid.

THE 492 Solihull Air Cadets squadron has gratefully accepted a donation from the Solihull Round Table to purchase four training mannequins to help cadets learn first aid and resuscitation.

Solihull Round Table chairman Greg Meadwell visited the squadron to present the pounds 700 cheque to chairman John Pook and squadron commander Flight Lieutenant Elliot Hemes.

He was given a demonstration of the cadets learning in action using the new equipment, as well as watching the squadron march on parade.

The equipment has already come into good use, with the squadron first aid team coming fifth in the annual Wing Field Day competition competing against 26 other squadrons from around the Warwickshire and Birmingingham Wing.

The 492 (Solihull) Air Cadets meet twice a week and are open to boys and girls between 13 and 17.
