Pecseli (U. of Oslo, Norway) has developed his lecture notes for a course in plasma physics--the study of dynamics in charged particle. Students are not assumed to have previous knowledge of plasma physics, though he recommends basic mathematics through Fourier transforms. The book provides a broad foundation for more advanced courses. The topics include linear wave dynamics, natural occurrences of plasmas, electrostatic waves in warm homogeneous and isotropic plasmas, weakly nonlinear electrostatic drift waves, and kinetic plasma sound waves.
