Wattoo hopes PML-N, PTI talks deadlock to end.
Lahore -- Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo, President Pakistan People Party (PPP) Central Punjab, has welcomed the reported acceptance of the mediation offer of opposition leader Syed Khurshid Shah by both the parties, Pakistan Muslim LeagueN (PMLN) and Pakistan TehrikeInsaf (PTI).
He added that hopes have been rekindled to the peaceful resolution of the political stalemate that has been continuing unabatedly for the last many months.
He said that the political uncertainty due to the standoff had paralyzed the government and the people were scared of the resultant uncertainty that was proving as their ultimate nightmare with no end in sight.
He said that the continuity of the political dead lock had been casting aspersions on the democratic credentials of the agitating parties both at home and abroad.
They have become laughing stock due to their failure to sort out contentious issue of immense national importance, he added.
He pointed out that the acceptance of the offer clearly manifested both parties' sincere eagerness for seeking the early political settlement hoping the political sagacity of the Opposition leader would definitely lead to propitious outcome the nation was anxiously hoping for since the unfolding of politics of agitation.
He recalled that theOpposition leader had been earnestly urging both the parties to iron out thedifference with the spirit of accommodation as the country could not afford destabilization at a time when terrorism and extremis was posing existential threat to the country.
He said that the Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and the Co Chairman Asif Ali Zardari had been consistently advocating that the Party politics should be put in the periphery for the time being and defeating the evil should be shared goal of all political leadership of all shades.
He said that the PPP did not join the politics of agitation because it did not want to put the democratic system in danger for which its leaders and workers had given numerous sacrifices.
He said that the PPP accepted the results of elections for the sake of the worth while cause of the continuity of the democratic system in the country and therefore could not afford to putit in jeopardy no matter what, he concluded.
