Watson-Marlow displays latest pumps at IPA 2004.
The 800 series Peristaltic pumps for high flow production of sterile and shear sensitive food-stuffs, are the most hygienic and gentle method of pumping available to, and specifically designed for, the food industry. They operate using a tube so that no foodstuff comes into contact with the internal workings of the pump, preventing contamination of both the foodstuff and the pump. Available with either variable or fixed speed drive options, the range can handle up to 8,000 litres an hour and can operate at pressures up to 3.5 bar. The pumps use FDA approved Bioprene tubing and have retractable roller mechanisms allowing clean-in-place (CIP) and steam-in-place (SIP) tube cleaning. Peralsitic pumps are ideal for food processing applications because substances such as soft fruit pie fillings and other ingredients are not damaged by the gentle action of the rollers as they occlude the soft rubber tube to move the contents through the pump.
The new 520 IP66 pump is for high pressure hose wash down areas. It has high-powered, brushless DC motors and die cast polyester-coated cases, the new 520 series pumps are designed to excel in the toughest food processing applications. Combining extraordinary levels of functionality with on-screen menus, a large high visibility display and easy-to use tactile membrane keypads, the 520 series flow rates up to 3.5 litre/min and a speed control ratio of 2,200:1. Logical to programe and easy to manage, the pumps provide user feedback via the pump's own display and have dual analogue input to control and scale speed.
