Watkins nets a finals day title double; 41 TENNIS VOLLEYS.
Open to non-county players and those who have not been capped in the past ten years, Watkins went one better than last year when he finished runner-up in the men's singles.
But this year he took the title by defeating Robert Pocknell, of Warwick Boat Club, in three sets and then went on to win the men's doubles, with his partner Simon Slater, against Beechwood pair Tim Webb and Matt Jordan in another match that went the distance.
The ladies' singles title was taken by Blossomfield's Josie Williamson, who beat Lucie Butler, from Leamington, and Blossomfield were also successful in the ladies doubles when Alana Parsons and Rebecca Bonder overcame Streetly's Nicky Chinn and Cath Bowen.
The men's 45+ doubles was won for the fourth year running by John Blenkinsop and John Watkins, of Knowle & Dorridge, over Webb and Clive Stallon.
In the men's 55+ doubles, WBC's Peter Grant and Graham Holway, of Hamptonin-Arden, overcame the 2010 champions David Bradbury and Paul Callender, from Leamington, and the ladies' vets doubles was won by last year's runners-up Kate Perkins and Melanie Jennings.
The ladies' vintage doubles was taken by Alison Isaacs and Judy Turner, of K&D, and in the mixed vets doubles Andy Clifford and Alice Davey, from Blossomfield, regained the title they last won in 2010. The Stone Cup was defended by Streetly's Max Brazier and Katie Fourcade.
