Waterslide at a Buford aquatic center.

Scope: The new project will replace a 22-year-old waterslide tower at Bogan Park Aquatic Center. The indoor pool complex features multiple water play structures with the massive spiral slide at the center. The waterslide project includes the new slide itself, plus demolition of the old structure, new stairs, plumbing and mechanical work, according to county documents. The $360,060 project is completely funded by money from the 2017 SPLOST. Funds from the tax were earmarked for a variety of county needs including parks, transportation, senior services and libraries.Waterworks Atlanta, a local firm that designs aquatic attractions, was awarded the contract for the waterslide replacement. The company has operated in the metro area for 28 years and has built attractions including Skull Island at Six Flags Over Georgia. Waterworks also previously built a play structure at Mountain Park Aquatic Center, another Gwinnett County pool, according to the companys website.
