Waterskiing: Bazley splashes in with skiing double.

JOHN BAZLEY celebrated double medal success at the World Senior Waterskiing Championships in Russia.

He was a member of the Great Britain squad that claimed silver in the overall team contest. And the 44 year -old from Aigburth (pictured left) went one better in the individual jump event, winning gold with a massive 145ft leap on the Balakovo course.

John,a contracts manager with a building firm, wasSports Reporter competing in the 35-45 age group.

He said: ``I have been water skiing since I was five. It was all down to my dad Reg.

``He had packed up rug by and tried water skiing while on holiday. He bought a boat and from then on we were waterskiing.

``My dad still skis,even at the age of 73,as well as my sister Rosemary.''
