Waterpik introduces toothbrush/flosser.
NEW YORK -- Waterpik unveiled the new Waterpik SonicFusion, a toothbrush that both brushes and flosses teeth. Designed for what the company described as self-professed "flossing failures," who value gum health but cannot commit to the extra step, Sonic-Fusion offers a one-step oral care regimen.
"By merging the latest Waterpik Water Flos ser and Sonic Toothbrush technologies, Sonic-Fusion enables brushing and flossing at the same time," said Jay McCulloch, vice president of global marketing for oral care at Waterpik. "As the sonic toothbrush head cleans tooth surfaces, the Water Flosser jet inside the brush head targets plaque and debris between teeth and below the gum line where toothbrush bristles can't reach. This flexible device also allows for brushing and flossing separately, with the touch of a button."
McCulloch said the SonicFusion is up to two times more effective than regular brushing and flossing, and the product removes up to 99.9% of plaque from treated areas.
Dr. Chris Salierno tested SonicFusion with patients in his dental practice who struggled with home care. "My patients had significantly less plaque buildup, less bleeding and less inflammation of the gums. It appears to me that Sonic-Fusion is not only a more effective way to brush and floss but it's also easier, so I found that my patients were actually flossing more often than they normally would," he said.
The Sonic-Fusion features specially engineered Waterpik WaterFlosser and Sonic Toothbrush technologies, and includes such features as a compact, all-in-one design that requires less counter space, a one-handed mode control for simplified use, 10 settings for custom comfort, two patented Water Flossing brush heads and a deluxe case.
