Waterloo want earlier date for clash; WATERLOO.
WITH their crunch game at home to Northwich postponed last week, Firwood Waterloo are seeking to have the contest re-arranged for next Saturday, although league officials would prefer the game to held back until a fortnight after that.
"It was really unfortunate we could not get this game on but having looked at the pitch there was just no chance," said director of rugby Steve Wood.
"We were certainly disappointed with our performance at home to Warrington and we were looking forward to the Northwich game to get our show back on the road. However, as to the dates we are not happy with the league's suggestion of the 31st as that takes us into the Easter weekend.
"We have spoken to Northwich of the possibilty of the 17th and we are waiting for them to reply."
This afternoon, Waterloo go to Burnage who are in ninth place in North One West.
"With us in third place behind Northwich although on the same points we cannot afford to come away from Burnage without the win and if possible the bonus point," Wood explained.
"Northwich are at home to Wilmslow so we will be looking at that scoreline with much interest.
"At his stage of the season all games are crucial."
