WatchGuard strengthens firewall appliance offerings with security bundle.
The US-based Internet security systems provider WatchGuard Technologies has begun to bundle all the Firebox III 1000, 2500 and 4500 models of its firewall appliances with anti-virus software from McAfee, mobile user virtual private network (VPN) clients from IPSEC and a VPN management system.
Customers of the three Firebox III models will also receive a one-year subscription to WatchGuard's LiveSecurity Service, which offers software updates, virus alerts and technical support, and to McAfee's VirusScan AsaP anti-virus update service. The bundle and the subscriptions will be offered as part of the product price.
Firebox 700 customers will receive McAfee's anti-virus software and the LiveSecurity Service while Firebox small office/home office customers will get a bundle containing McAfee's software, secure remote management and the LiveSecurity Service.
