Wat a big let-down; Watford 1 Southend 1.

WATFORD boss Graham Taylor warned fans not to expect champagne performances in the run-in.

Taylor's side were booed off by sections of the Vicarage Road faithful after losing the Second Division leadership as they dropped points at home to struggling Southend.

"I can understand the fans' reaction. But there are going to be a lot of tight games between now and the end of the season," he said.

"You won't always be able to tell the difference between the top side and those fighting to avoid the drop."

Southend boss Alvin Martin said: "We matched Watford and if we can continue to do that we might get out of trouble."
