Waste plant proposal.

PLANS to build a waste treatment plant in Flintshire have been recommended for approval.

Family-run Trade Effluent Services (TES) is proposing to construct the facility at the former Grasser Works site in Factory Road, Sandycroft.

The plant would turn agricultural wastes, livestock slurry, poultry litter and commercial food wastes into gas that can be generated into electricity for sale to the local grid. It would also create two full-time jobs and one part-time role.

Flintshire County Council's planning committee will meet on Wednesday to rule on the plans which have been recommended for approval by planning officers, subject to various conditions being met.

TES, who employ 40 staff at another site in Sandycroft as well as its main base in Wrexham, has a turnover of PS3m.
