Washington Mortgage Financial Group.

Washington Mortgage Financial Group, a nation-wide lender specializing in multifamily properties, has announced that Gary Q. Kokalari (photo), has been named vice president and manager of the firm's Northeast regional office.

Washington Mortgage, which is headquartered in Vienna, Virginia, currently manages a loan portfolio in excess of $4.5 billion and maintains offices throughout the United States. The Northeast regional office is based in the Newport Financial Center in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Kokalari was formerly senior real estate finance officer for CB Commercial's mortgage banking group. There, he forged close working relationships with many domestic and foreign capital sources and also acted as real estate loan correspondent for several major life insurance companies. Prior to joining CB, Kokalari was marketing director for Sybedon Corp., a New York-based real estate investment banking firm. His responsibilities at Sybedon included structuring and arranging debt and equity financing for development, acquisition and refinancing of real estate

Kokalari holds an MBA in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in business administration from the School of Management of Boston University. He is a licensed real estate broker in the State of New York and a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association, the Young Mortgage Bankers Association and the Council of New York Cooperatives.
