Washington DC Chapter.
After arriving on two leased buses, over 100 members of the chapter enjoyed a western barbeque luncheon followed by presentations from Colonel Russell Frasz, Vice Commander of the 89th Airlift Wing and Captain Kobilaski, the Andrews AFB command briefer. We then proceeded to the flight line to tour the aircraft. It was a beautiful November day and the tour was excellent. On November 26th, the night before Thanksgiving, board member Tom Lydon arranged for a record turnout of 21 NDTADC chapter and family members to pack groceries for the Arlington Food Assistance Center, a very rewarding event that provides a valued service to the community. On January 15th, our luncheon at the Tivoli restaurant in Rosslyn, Virginia, featured a presentation by MG Ann Dunwoody. General Dunwoody updated our members on the command's name change, the command's support of current operations, and plans for the future. Our Edward Honor Mentor-Protege program, led by board member Steve Cubarny, held its final Fall session at the Logistics Management Institute and was well attended by proteges and mentors alike. Our A-35 committee held its bi-monthly Professional Development program at Landstar Trucking headquarters, hosted by member Dave Larson. Our young A-35 members learned a great deal about the trucking business and operations in the US. Future events include our monthly luncheons, our popular Scholarship Auction and our National Transportation Day reception.
