Wartime memories; LETTERS to the EDITOR.

I AM trying to help a friend in Norway identify a property on the Wirral named Westwood which has special in the memories for many Norwegian Merchant Seamen who convalesced there during World War II. The owners of this house allowed it to be used by these men as they were not able to go to their homes after they were discharged from hospital.

During those dark days the incumbent Pastor at the Norwegian Seamen''s Church was "Alf van der Hagen" who counselled all of these men and is held in high esteem to this day. It is his daughter, Sidsel, who is desperately trying to locate this house as her father actually spent time there himself. She would be eternally grateful if any of your readers can direct us to Westwood.
