Warsteiner's sales continue unabated.

Warsteiner Importers Agency announced last week continued strong sales for its Warsteiner beer, during both the second quarter and the first six months of 1991.

According to Diane Fall, Warsteiner president, "Sales in the United States of Warsteiner beer during April, May and June soared 38 percent over sales during the same period a year earlier. During the first half of 1991, sales in the U.S. increased 28 percent, when compared with the same 1990 period.

"We are very pleased," Fall continued, "that Warsteiner is rapidly gaining both recognition and popularity in the United States, especially as sales of most other German imports have dropped precipitously. When most sales reports are made, there are specific reasons given for the increases or specific geographic strong points, but in no way does this hold true for the Warsteiner sales story.

"Our strong sales are not easily attributable or limited to one or two particularly strong markets," Fall pointed out. "We are finding that Warsteiner's sales strength, especially in the draft segment, to be a factor across the country, from coast to coast.

"Warsteiner draft beer accounted for 37 percent of all sales during the first six months [of 1991]," Fall added.

Fall also noted that the brand revealed that June's sales volume had resulted in a record volume month for the company. In addition, it indicated that sales records were also set during the first and second quarters, as well as for the six months.

"My greatest concern is that we have enough beer to satisfy our ever-increasing number of discriminating consumers," Fall said. "Unlike occasional domestic brewer production glitches that have created shortages in the past, we simply have been overwhelmed by the desire to buy and consume Warsteiner beer.

"As a result," Fall reported, "we have continually increased our orders from the brewery in Warstein, Germany. We don't ever want to disappoint even a single Warsteiner afficionado - and so far we haven't."

Fall also explained that Delaware has become the newest state to receive her brand. Distribution there began in time for the state's summer beach season, with retail demand already double what the agency had anticipated, according to Fall.
