Warning after firework raid.

POLICE have put out a warning after potentially dangerous display fireworks were stolen.

Officers in Bloxwich are warning local people not to buy fireworks from unauthorised sellers.

It follows the theft of powerful fireworks from a shed at an address in Cops Crescent, Pelsall, overnight on Saturday.

The fireworks are owned by a licensed individual and are used for staged displays.

Many require electric detonation and some are not finished.

They included ammonium sulphate flares - which cannot be extinguished once lit and can cause third degree burns - and Chinese crackers and cosmic bangers banned from retail sale.

Anyone with information can call police on 0845 113 5000.
