Warehouse of saving's.

In Indianola there is a 20,000-square-foot metal warehouse selling items in bulk at wholesale prices to the public, including everything from paper and party supplies to food and drinks to office and janitorial supplies.

The father and daughter team of Larry and Elizabeth McRight opened MPAK, Inc. in 2006 and have since expanded into a smaller space in Oxford, where Elizabeth resides.

A typical warehouse, MPAK may not be fancy, but the savings and selections are incredible. "As you enter from an overhead loading door, you will notice freezers to your right with pallets of Faygo drinks to your left," says Elizabeth. "Beyond that, rows of pallets are lined up with bulk items, from drinks to chips to canned vegetables. Then to your left, you will see the loading dock and the forklift busy at work while workers are pulling orders to go out on the trucks."

MPAK's customers are not limited to Indianola residents. It attracts people from around the state and country, including restaurant owners, catering professionals, party planners, sororities and fraternities, retail and grocery stores, teachers and schools, corporate businesses, convenience stores, and more. "We take pride in making business connections and keeping them for years," says Elizabeth.

"If you are looking to have a party, we can help with that," says Elizabeth. "We carry many affordable solid napkins, plates, and table covers. We also carry balloons, cocktail skewers, appetizer dishes, bamboo chopsticks, cutlery assortments, acrylic display pieces, customized dinnerware and cups, and aluminum trays that literally look like silver!" If you are planning for a larger group and need more than 600 white beverage napkins, MPAK sells a case of 4,000 for less than the cost of a 600-count case.

Their retail packaging section is also ideal for individuals. "We carry gift boxes, apparel boxes, tissue paper, gable boxes, shopping bags, raffia, curling ribbon, mesh, tulle, cellophane bags, and bows," adds Elizabeth. "Our retail packaging is excellent quality!"

You can also find everything from cleaning and janitorial supplies to industrial packaging items like custom poly bags, films, and corrugated boxes, as well as packaging tapes, foam peanuts for shipping, foam coolers and boxes for shipping food, gel packs, and pallet wrap. The food service selection is also wide with offerings like cases of chicken wings to alligator meat and casseroles. Plus, there are large cans of vegetables, concession foods, mixes, and seasonings, as well as an assortment of juices, energy drinks, and candy. The list goes on and on.

If you are not looking to buy in bulk, they do sell smaller quantities for the public. "For example, we might have a case of 12,000 straws that are divided in boxes of 500 straws," explains Elizabeth. "Therefore, we will sell the box of 500 for someone that doesn't want to buy all 12,000 at once."

For Larry, offering a location in the Delta to purchase products like these at substantial discounted prices for the general public, without requiring a membership and fee as many wholesalers do, was important. "We wanted to provide a location that set us apart from other paper and packaging distributors in our area."

In Oxford, MPAK has a booth in the Sugar Magnolia Antique Mall with colorful party supplies, ribbon, gift wrapping and mesh rolls, as well as seasonal items like Christmas cupcake boxes and Halloween trick-or-treat bags. "For football season, the booth is heavily decorated with red and blue and with our 'Go Rebels Go' foam cups that are $2.99 for 25 cups!" says Elizabeth. "They are a great deal!"
