331 pages

Gillam (history, Spelman College) fought in Vietnam in 1969-1970. This book combines his experiences in Vietnam with material he's dug up as part of his profession in its description of the war in the central highlands of Vietnam as told from the grunt's perspective. He also describes the training process and his experiences as a Vietnam veteran home from the war.
