Wanarn Painters of Place and Time: Old Age Travels in the Tjukurrpa

David Brooks and Darren Jorgensen

UWA Publishing

111 pages

In this book, authors Brooks and Jorgensen present readers with a collection of Australian Aboriginal works dedicated to end of life vision and imagination. The text includes transformative work done by a collection of celebrated Aboriginal artists now living in a care facility for the elderly in the remote and isolated Ngaanyatjarra country. The paintings are remarkable and elusive by nature, because of their having been done by artists nearing the ends of their lives. David Brooks is a Honorary Research Fellow of the University of Western Australia. Darren Jorgensen is a faculty member of the same institution. Distributed in the US by ISBS.
