Walsh 'exploits young'.
EIGHTIES star Barbara Dickson has accused Louis Walsh of "exploiting" young wannabe stars.
The Scots-born singer slammed X-Factor-style reality shows and stormed: "If Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh were to do something worthwhile the public would take to it.
"But the problem is that they are exploiting people's desire to become famous.
"When I think of those two I am always reminded of the famous line from WC Fields, 'Never give a sucker an even break'.
"They are not giving people even breaks."
Dickson, who is about to appear in Dublin and Belfast, added: "Simon Cowell is not an expert on music, he is a businessman, albeit a successful one.
"The kinds of shows that he produces are a horrible, gullible exercise for those kids and I feel so sorry for them."
