Walk for Lammas festival.

AN EIGHT mile walk through the countryside will mark the little-known Lammas festival.

Ranger Julian Brown will lead the Lammas walk which is one of the four ancient fire festivals of the year.

It marks the midway point between the summer solstice and the autumn equinox.

The moderate to hard walk will start at Castle Hill at 1pm on Friday, August 1.

It is a free event but places need to be booked by contacting Jul ian Brown at the Tolson Museum on 01484 223 830.
