Wales should applaud courage of Scots; Views of Wales.
SIR - Much saccharine nonsense has been spouted by the self-deluding "Better Together" proponents, comparing the parting of the ways of Scotland and other parts of these islands to the break-up of a marriage.
Under both civil and ecclesiastical law, the procurement of a marriage through force or fraud invalidates the marriage and the aggrieved party is entitled to an annulment. A brief glance at the process by which the people of Scotland were sold into the hands of England by a corrupt and bribed aristocracy makes it blindingly clear that the Scots have every right to walk away from what has been a thoroughly exploitative relationship.
We in Wales should be applauding their courage, not whining about what will happen to us. We and the people of Cornwall have to make our own solutions.
