A Flat Christmas?

Want to hear some really bad economic news?

By now, we're sure our savvy readers have learned that Wal-Mart posted a 6 percent increase in same store sales for the month of December.

Does that 6 percent figure jingle any bells? It should -- according to an economic adviser it is the current rate of inflation. In other words, usually booming Wal-Mart had a flat Christmas. That is a scary thought.

One local broker says, "It shows just how soft a retail season it really was."
