US retailer Wal-Mart has revealed it has established an agreement with computer company Dell Inc to start selling Dell Computer desktops in Wal-Mart stores in the US from 10 June 2007.
The companies said the agreement includes the introduction of two Dell products, to be offered in over 3,500 Wal-Mart and Sam's Club locations in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico, each offered in a bundle for less than USD700.
The Dell Dimension Multimedia Desktop Computer will be offered exclusively at 3,400 Wal-Mart stores in the US and Puerto Rico, with a second model to be made available in 3,000 Wal-Mart stores. Other, exclusive computer models will be sold through Wal-Mart Canada and Sam's Club.
The companies plan to evaluate the success of the product and the launch and adapt distribution and product in response to purchase response and customer feedback. They intend to release more information about the computers soon.
