Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (Business Briefs).

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has announced that its Wal-Mart and Sam's Club stores will accept each other's private-label credit cards. Sam's Club will honor Wal-Mart credit cards and Wal-Mart community and business cards, and Wal-Mart will honor Sam's Club personal credit cards or business revolving credit cards to buy merchandise at Wal-Mart discount stores, Supercenters and Neighborhood Markets.

Wal-Mart will set up a procurement office in Shenzhen in southern China, shifting billions of dollars worth of annual purchases away from a longtime agent in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Economic Times reported last week.

Jeanne Jackson said she will step down as chief executive of the Walmart.com division after the 2001 holiday season. She will be succeeded by John Fleming, who currently serves as vice president of merchandising at Walmart.com.
