Waiting For An Angel

Employees and creditors of Harrison-Ward Furniture of Harrison continue to wait for an equity angel to rescue the plant from bankruptcy.

The manufacturing operation shut down at the end of June when Bill Ward, its president, could not make timely payments on the loan he used to buy the place.

Whitaker Furniture Co. of Searcy made a bid for picking up plant, equipment and outstanding debts.

The word is the Whitaker bid was rejected, then accepted by some of Harrison-Ward's creditors. Meanwhile, everyone is waiting for a definitive answer.
