Wait And See

Our insider who told us about a $3.5 million buyout offer for First National Bank of Fordyce says the federal regulators should be making a ruling on the transaction any day.

The regs have been so backed up with problem institutions in the region, we wonder if this proposal won't get bogged down in the bureaucratic channel and take a little longer than that.

You might recall from our whisper in June that Peter Jaffe, a 24-year-old New York investor, is the would-be buyer in this deal.
