Wacker introduces hybrid polymer for hairstyling.
* The silicone/vinyl acetate copolymer makes it possible to produce water-based hairsprays that not only provide a firm hold, but also give hair a natural feel. The newly-developed hybrid polymer, Wacker-Belsil P 101 gives hair a firm hold--without impairing soft feel, two properties that were previously thought to be incompatible.
This new product consists of two components--inorganic silicone and organic vinyl acetate. The polymer does not draw any water from moist air. It is ideal for formulating hairsprays with a high water content while avoiding any sticky film. The product can be used to make aerosol and pump sprays.
Formulations with Wacker-Belsil P 101 produce a fine spray that provides optimum distribution on the hair. Results indicate that the polymer ensures firm hold, enhances combability and gives hair a pleasant, soft feel. More info: info@wacker.com.
