 WYSE TECHNOLOGY INTRODUCES FOUR NETWORK-READY PCS;
 ANNOUNCEMENT SUPPORTS MICROSOFT WINDOWS FOR WORKGROUPS LAUNCH
 SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Wyse Technology today announced four personal computers that can be purchased ready-to-operate in the new Microsoft Windows(TM) for Workgroups operating system version 3.1. The new PCs include three highly scalable i486-based systems that have been optimized for superior video performance.
 "Windows for Workgroups represents a tremendous breakthrough in easy cost-effective networking," said Richard Wesson, vice president of Business Development for Wyse's Systems Division. "Now new network users can combine the benefits of Windows and workgroup networking without the expense involved in a client/server environment. And, organizations already operating in a client/server mode can add the robust functionality of Windows for Workgroups."
 In addition to the models announced today, Wesson said Wyse will offer Windows for Workgroups on a series of products over the coming months.
 The new Wyse PCs are ready to run Windows for Workgroups, with an integrated Ethernet capability, a 200MB hard drive, four MB of Random Access Memory and Windows for Workgroups installed and configured on the hard drive. Users need only connect the Ethernet cable and power on to start networking.
 The three i486 models are based on the highly scalable PC platform introduced this past July, the Decision 486si. In addition to easy CPU power upgrades via a zero insertion force socket design that allows processor replacement at the flick of a lever, the systems feature scalable cache and system memory. The PCs come standard with Wyse Hyper16 Video, an enhanced local bus video design that speeds video performance up to 300 percent over conventional expansion board designs. The new network-ready 486si models announced today include 486DX33, 486/50DX2 and 486/66DX2 configurations.
 In addition to the three i486-based PCs, the company also announced a network-ready model of the i386-based system, the Decision 386SX/25C. This PC has 64KB of posted write cache and enhanced network support and integrates enhanced SVGA on the motherboard. Finally, the company will offer a Windows for Workgroups upgrade kit for use with Wyse PCs purchased through its highly flexible configure-to-order program.
 The new network-ready PCs will be available in November. Pricing for these models and the upgrade kit will be announced at availability.
