 SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Under the terms of a new OEM agreement, Wyse Technology Inc. announced today that it will pre- install the Santa Cruz Operation's (SCO) advanced UNIX operating systems on its entire line of client and server platforms and upcoming new entry-level server. The SCO MPX multiprocessor extension will also be pre-installed on Wyse's Series 7000i symmetric multiprocessing system and available from Wyse by the end of the year. Uniprocessor versions of the Series 7000i can be bought today and easily upgraded by ordering the MPX extension and CPU boards. The agreement is designed to meet the needs of resellers designing robust client/server solutions for the commercial systems environment.

 In addition to bundling SCO's Open Server Enterprise system on the Series 6000i and Series 7000i servers and Open Desktop Lite Release 3.0 with its line of Decision clients, Wyse will separately distribute all other SCO products, including networking and development software. As a benefit to its value added reseller customers, Wyse will provide technical support for SCO's full family of advanced open systems software on its platforms.
 The high-performance Series 7000i Model 760MP multiprocessing system will take full advantage of SCO's MPX multiprocessor extension. Scalable to five Intel 66MHz i486DX2 CPUs, Wyse's symmetric multiprocessing architecture is also available in the form of chip sets and boards, fully compatible with SCO UNIX. The availability of Wyse's technology allows OEMs to quickly go to market with a symmetric multiprocessing system.
 SCO provides open systems software for Intel CPU-based computers. SCO products are available in more than 70 countries around the world.
