EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Wyle Laboratories (NYSE: WYL) announced that Joseph A. Adamczyk, 48, has been promoted to president of Wyle's Electronics Marketing Group and elected a vice president of the corporation. The company also announced the creation of a separate business unit which will be dedicated to Wyle's rapidly growing contract services and manufacturing support business.
Adamczyk succeeds Ralph L. Ozorkiewicz, who was recently named president and chief operating officer of Wyle. Ozorkiewicz commented: "Joe Adamczyk has made an outstanding contribution to the Electronics Marketing Group's success while serving as the group's executive vice president-sales. This proven track record, together with Joe's demonstrated leadership capability, makes him well qualified for his new position as group president."

At the same time, the company is establishing a new business unit, named Liberty Contract Services, to provide dedicated resources focused on serving the fastest-growing segment of Wyle's value-added business.
Ozorkiewicz explained: "Liberty Contract Services will be chartered to accelerate Wyle's growth in the manufacturing support areas of kitting, kanban, turnkey manufacturing and system integration. After recently doubling our capacity, we are well positioned to serve the growing number of customers that are outsourcing their manufacturing requirements."
Liberty Contract Services will be headquartered in Garden Grove, Calif., where it will have operating facilities aggregating more than 60,000 square feet. This business unit will be headed up by Smith who will report directly to Ozorkiewicz in that capacity.
