WWPA offers reference materials in Spanish.
Hispanic labor in the United States is steadily growing and is
expected to comprise 13 percent of the workforce by 2008, many of whom
will be in manufacturing, including lumber operations. The Western Wood
Products Association (WWPA) now offers their members publications in
Spanish, including a publication on grading rules for light framing,
structural light framing, and structural joists and planks. Since they
were introduced, WWPA has used the Spanish grading rules to help Spanish
speaking employees better understand lumber grades by presenting the
information in their native language. WWPA also offers three other
publications in Spanish--Lumber Storage, Unseasoned (Green) Lumber, and
Notching and Boring Guide.
