WWII poster exhibit to open March 8.

WORCESTER -- The Briarwood Community has announced its second public art exhibit in a series of six for 2015. "Uncle Sam Wants You! The Propaganda Posters of WWII'' will be on display March 8, through April 30 at the Gallery at Briarwood, 65 Briarwood Circle. An opening reception will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. March 8.

The posters are part of an extensive collection owned by Briarwood resident Gordon Lankton, the premier American collector of Russian icons and founder of the Museum of Russian Icons in Clinton. He is also a collector of African art and founder of the Museum of African Art, also in Clinton.

The exhibit is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays Group tours and those wishing to visit on weekends may make arrangements by calling (508) 852-9007 or by e-mailing amthomas@briarwoodsl.com.
